Voting Question: Will 5mg of lexapro every other day work?
would a 5mg dose of lexapro, taken every other day, be helpful for mild to moderate depression? I took a 10mg dose before and was high for 2 days. the 5mg seemed to help me feel a bit better without feeling sick. what do you think?
Answers :when dealing with your medications you need to talk to your doctor about it. if you felt high for two days after taking 10 mgs of Lexapro then you needed to call your doctor and let him/her know that immediately. that is referred to as a side effect. no one here can tell you how to take your medicines that has to be done by YOUR doctor alone. please call your doctor asap and let your doctor know how 10 mgs of Lexapro made you feel. he/she may need to put you on something else
or it may just be a temporary side effect until your body gets used to it. i take 40 mgs of it and have never had that effect from it at any time. Once your system gets used to the Lexapro, you probably wouldn't have the "high" feeling you experienced. It is possible a 5 mg dose per day would work, that is something you should talk with your psychiatrist about.
Hopefully it will work - you don't want to be on a higher dose than you need.
