I have been taking Lexapro for about 4-5 weeks now, and I know that there are side effects that come with it. But I would like to know what the common ones are. I've been experiencing really vivid dreams, dizziness and fatigue. I also would like to know if these last. Thanks for the help.

I was recently prescribed Lexapro for my depression and anxiety.
As of now I have only taken it once in a small dosage as recommended by my doctor to start me off.
I have been reading up on the side effects and have seen many woman complaining about extreme weight gain, fatigue, libido issues, mood swings, and many other negative side effects. After reading about these issues I have begun to question whether or not I would like to continue taking Lexapro.
I also heard it is VERY hard to discontinue use once you have been taking it for a while.
I understand all anti-depressants have side-effects, but I want to take the medication I believe is best for me. If I continue to have doubts I plan on contacting my doctor and discussing it with him.
Has anyone taken Lexapro before and had any particular side effects? If so, what ones? Are they worth dealing with to rid me of my depression and anxiety?

My doctor prescribed me Lexapro for anxiety about a week ago. Since then, I've been experiencing insomnia and nausea. These seem to both be relatively common side effects, but will they subside if I continue taking the drug? If anyone has taken Lexapro before, what was your experience with it? I don't know how long I can deal with the insomnia, I'm useless!

I have followed doctors instructions and come off the drug very gradually, but a day or two after i stopped all together I am very dizzy to the point of needing to faint when i stand up? Anyone experienced this or know if it is normal or how long it may go for?

Does anyone experience fatigue from taking lexapro and if so what kind of changes did you use to reduce it? I'm wondering if this is a common side effect? I really don't want to change this medication because it helps my anxiety but I wish I was more energetic.

I just began with 10 mg tonight for anxiety and depression, and I am completely whacked out. I feel like I could just sleep... and sleep... and sleep. I'm supposed to go to 20 mg in 10 days. How long can I expect this extreme drowsiness to last? Is this common? Thanks in advance.

i heard it can make sexual abilities *ejaculation, potency, struff like that* wither, but i also heard that it can help people with those problems to begin with. i ahve clinical depressiona nd i am taking lexapro, i ahve had an unusual sex life, due to my lifestyle of alcohol, drugs, and smoking, but i also have been wrecked with depression since i was a child. im thinking if i take the lexapro, i will decrease my desire to drinka nd do drugs, and it might actually make me have higher self esteem. if not then what are some general side effects and how common are they?
