• If I am having bad Lexapro withdrawal symptoms while pregnant will a doctor put me on temporary disability?
|
So, I have been taking Lexapro 20mg for about 4 years which saved my life. I was completely unable to function, couldnt leave home, couldnt drive, couldnt face people.
Now I have just found out I am pregnant (unplanned) and because there is no concrete information or study on the effects of Lexapro on unborn babies I decided to get off of it asap.
I've been weening myself off and am finding myself going right back to where I was 4 years ago only worse because I'm having these horrible brain spaz's, total confusion, emotional outbursts, etc... It's horrible but I want to fight this out, I'd rather suffer myself then risk having an abnormal child.
What I'm wondering is if I can ask my doctor to put me on early disability or does it have to be an actual physical and not mental disability in order to qualify??

• dizziness, withdrawal symptom from cipralex/lexapro?
|
I recently stopped taking anti depressants and have been very dizzy since. Im finding it hard to focus and and am very tired. I discussed stopping with my doctor and did it gradually, following all her advice so im not sure whats going on? I don't feel depressed enough to need the meds anymore but the dizziness and tiredness is quite difficult. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or what I can do to counteract it?

• Lexapro withdrawal symptoms after slow discontinuation?
|
I've been taking Lexapro for probably over 5 years. It hasn't really done anything. they decided to take me off of it slowly. I can't take a lower dose because there isn't one. After 2 days of being off of the medication i am now getting withdrawal symptoms in the form of those little shocks that go up your spine feeling. I can't get a hold of my doctor for many reasons(It's too late, I don't have her extension, and she's only in 3 times a friggin month). I still have some Lexapro left i took one to stop the feeling because last time that happened it was so annoying if i let it happen i would have killed myself(That wasn't my first option I'm not suicidal. I enjoy my life. I retroactively sought a new Dr). Is there any good way to get off of this damn drug without it driving you up a wall.

•Voting Question: Will I experience Lexapro withdrawal symptoms?
|
I have been taking Lexapro for 5 days so far for OCD and anxiety. While I'm aware that it is normal for me not to be feeling any better yet, I am having second thoughts about being on the medication and would like to stop now. I have spoke to my doctor and while he doesn't quite agree with me stopping he says that after 5 nights on a low dose (5 mg), I should experience now withdrawal symptoms. Does anyone know if after being on lexapro or any other ssri for such a short time and then stopping abruptly can cause withdrawal symptoms.
Thanks.

• Lexapro withdrawal while pregnant?
|
I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and having severe withdrawal symptoms from lexapro. I have tapered off my dosage, but i'm still really sick. I keep having what they call "brain zaps" and my face goes numb. I was only on 10 mg and took 5 mg for a week, which was what the doctor said for me to do. I can handle the withdrawal symptoms, my concern is for the baby. Does anyone know anything about this? The only reason why I stopped taking it was to breast feed. If this withdrawal is going to hurt the baby I don't have to breast feed.
Me and my drs have already talked about the risks and benefits of taking lexapro while pregnant. I was trying to get in touch with a doctor to make sure the withdrawal wouldn't hurt the baby. My OB-GYN didn't seem too worried. Still waiting to hear back from my psyc to see what she wants me to do

• Can you get withdrawal symptoms from one dose of lexapro?
|
So I took my first 2.5mg dose of lexapro today and after doing some research on some of the horrible withdrawal experiences, I decided that I would rather not take the drug at all. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone on here has had experience with lexapro and if it is possible to get withdrawal from a single dose. Thanks for any help!

• Lexapro Withdrawal Symptoms?
|
I am 14 years old and have been taking Lexapro for two months. I have severe depression, which is why I got on the medication. 5 days ago, I ran out of pills. My family has been very busy and hasn't had the time to call my doctor and get me another bottle. Because I haven't taken the medication in so long, my depression feels like it's worse then when it was before I got on the pills. I had a knife up to wrist wanting to cut myself at one point, and my suicidal thoughts have been extremely strong. I have been having really bad crying spells. I start crying from the moment I wake up until the moment I fall asleep. I have extremely bad mmigrainesand have unnecessary aggressions towards everyone around me. I have been having really bad sleeping problems, and have been waking up in the middle of the night crying almost every night.
Are these normal symptoms of withdrawalment of Lexapro? Also, what other risks are there of quitting cold turkey?

• WILL I experience withdrawal symptoms from lexapro?
|
I'm 15 and my doctor gave me lexapro almost 2 weeks ago for social anxiety disorder. He gave me 2 sample packs to see if they would work for me (they havent). That's a total of 14 pills. I was was supposed to come back in 15 days, whichs means that on the day I go back to the doctor, I won't have a pill to take. I have school on the day I go back, so I'm worried that I will experience withdrawal during school, which will start over 24 hours after my last dosage.
