• Is there any harm in taking Effexor and Lexapro together?

I usually take my Effexor at 5pm or so, and my Lexapro at 9 or 10pm. I can feel a migraine coming on, and am sleep deprived from the weekend anyway, so I was thinking of taking both meds plus a Unisom when I get home around 5pm and just trying to sleep strain through till morning. Any harm in taking all 3 meds at once?

I'm new to anti depressants I've only been on Lexapro 10mg for 3 months, Its for Depression and Severe Fatigue i also take it for Fibromyalgia. I've had very little improvement with it but my doctor decided to have me continue taking it and added now Effexor 75mg. Im worry the drugs will cause serotonin syndrome, has anyone taken these two together or similar drugs together??? Anyone Have any suggestions?

Has anyone tried this medication for Anxiety disorder and Depression.
My GP wants me to take effexor but my uncle who is also a GP recommended Lexapro.
I am on Clonazepam (benzo) for past 1 month 0.5mg/day but now I am really trying to get off.

I was on 150 mg of effexor and am down to 50 mg now. My psychiatrist wants me to start lexapro and keep weaning off effexor. I fear meds and fear serotonin syndrome.

i am seeing a psychiatrist and i tried for awhile paxil and then for awhile lexapro but neither really helped me. now i'm trying effexor. so which is the best out of the four overall? but really bc two of them already didn't work, which is better effexor or zoloft?

i cannot afford my antidepressant right now and feel a bit overwhelmed my doc tried me on celexa but it is not working as well any suggestions of another inexpensive antidepressant that i might suggest to y doctor? thanks. you know docs they always prescribe the stuff that is $100 a month lol

Hey guys i hope you are all well.
I suffer from Anxiety and have been perscribed both Effexor and Lexapro in the past few months.
However i noticed the 2 mentioned started making me more aggressive and the pains in my head got worse if that makes sense.
Today my doc switched me to 50mg of Lustral once a day.
Does anyone have any experience with this compared the other two and its results with anxiety?

• Lexapro, Effexor XR, Drinking, Smoking....?

Hello all, This question pertains to SSRIs, smoking marijuana, and drinking alcohol. I have been on lexapro for 2 years now. Started at 10mg/day then around 1 year I went down to 5mg/day then after 4 months down to 5 mg every other day then I tried every 3rd day became very anxious and now I am back on 5mg/ every other day. Well the bad thing is that the latest messing with dosages started to give me wierd side effects (headahce, less coordinated...etc) so I went to the doctor. He suggested that I go to effexor xr 37.5 mg every day from lexapro. Now I want to get off SSRIs completely thats why i went to every 3rd day but obviously am not ready with the panic attacks. I still strive to get off these things though completely. Should i listen to the doc or stick wit the lexapro? Next whats the deal with alcohol and lex or effexor. From what I have read it seems lex isn't as bad as effexor to mix with alcohol. Finally does smoking mary jane while on these drugs hurt you? thanks!
Alright I forgot to mention that I know a lot of people dispise these drugs and I admit I agree and thats why I want to get off them but have found I cant simply cause of how terrible my anxiety got after a year of being fine from going to 5 mg every 3rd day (I read the halflife of lex is 3 days and possibly why it effected my so much). So please don't advise me to get off them because I want to but I simply can't right now not until I am out of school and have more time to relax. And o yes by the way I smoked almost daily on lex since i started but have not since my anxiety flared up which has been 2 weeks nad I drink at most 3 times a week 8-10 beers each time. Thanks again all!
