• What kind of antifungal should I use for my baby's yeast infection?

My baby has a little start of a yeast infection in her vaginal area and in the accompanying folds and creases. What kind of anti-fungal should I use? The dr said "lotrimin" but I wonder if she meant gyne-lotrimin, or if it matters....

• Can a teen get over the counter drugs?
|
Okay so I'm afraid I have a yeast infection. I itch quite a lot downstairs and decided to investigate. I came across home remedies and one mentioned an over the counter fungal cream like miconazole (Monistat) and clotrimazole (Gyne-Lotrimin) but I don't know if I, being fifteen, can purchase them?

• What's the best OTC medicine for vaginal itching due to possible infection?
|
I was on 6 weeks of antibiotics for a sinus infection and I think I've gottten a vaginal infection as a result of these antibiotics. However - my symptoms only include 1 week of severe itching (no discharge or anything else like that).
What's the best OTC medicine to take?
- tioconazole (for example, Vagistat),
- clotrimazole (for example, Gyne-Lotrimin),
- or miconazole (for example, Monistat)
If OTC meds don't work then I'll go to a doctor - but I since it's the holidays - I can't get an appointment until after Jan 3rd. So ANY advice would be much appreciated!

• Question about losing mucus plug?
|
I'm 38 weeks now, and I'm currently using gyne-lotrimin 7 for a yeast infection (cream with internal applicator). I just lost my mucus plug, (I'm assuming, because of the bloody tinge)....so just wondering...is the medicine still safe to use? I'm assuming everything's still okay, because they say you can have sex up until your water breaks.
they say the medication was safe, can anyone tell me why they've heard differently?

•Voting Question: How to I get rid of a recurrent yeast infection?
|
I have had a recurrent yeast infection for over a year now. Every time I go to the doctor she gives me Diflucan. Half the time she tells me I also have "a lil BV" so she gives me antibiotics too! Antibiotics CAUSE yeast infections. I've stopped going to the doctor because she doesn't listen to me and doesn't think it's a big deal. Well it is just ask my amazing boyfriend who has been dealing with this with me! It's never really terrible, but its just enough to mess up everything. I know that its yeast and not anything else because I've been tested for EVERYTHING. I've tried Diflucan, Monistat, Gyne-Lotrimin, Yeast clenses, garlic, apple cider vinegar, and many homopathic supplements including probiotics... NOTHING WORKS! I'm at the end of the rope and I just don't know what else to do.
The worst thing about this is that I believe my doctor caused it. I went in for my yearly and she said I had "discharge" everything seemed normal to me, but she did a test and said I had BV and a yeast infection. She prescribed me antibiotics and Diflucan. I didn't know whether or not to take them, but I heard that BV causes PID so I didn't want to take any chances. Ever since then I've been battling this yeast infection! Modern medicine is a joke. Everyone is just trying to make a buck and no one cares. I know I sound bitter, but this is ridiculous. I really just wish it would go away I'm about to have a nervous break down over freakin yeast infection.. Grrrr...

• Yeast Infection Help!!!?
|
I've had a yeast infection for a year now, I've had it treated so many times and nothing has worked.
I've tried:
yogurt
garlic
tea trea oil
buttermilk
no bread no sugar diet
coconut oil
apple cider vinegar
monistat
walgreens yeast medication
gyne lotrimin
the prescription one pill
the prescription five day pills
salt bath
genitian violet
changing my soap
changing underwear tightness
a cleanse
garlic worked, then i got the infection again. The one day pill worked the first month of the infection and it came back again. It's not gone away for 10 solid months now. It's not as bad anymore, but it still itches and i have the discharge. I go to the doctor's repeatedly, and they agree it's yeast. I've had std testing and a number of other tests, it's definitely yeast. Also, I am not sexually active. I have no ideas left for treatment, I'm about to go crazy, help!!!!

• Yeast infection help? Ladies only please!!?
|
If you've had a yeast infection and used over the counter medicine what would did you use and did it work? I looked up some info and found these as just a few options, Gyne-Lotrimin or Mycelex, Gynezol or Femstat, Monistat, Vagistat-1. Has anyone used them or something that worked? I don't want to go to the doctor because there aren't any female doctors where I go and I'd rather not have a guy looking at my lady parts even if it's a doctor. I find it super embarrassing. The only way I'll go is if whatever I try doesn't work out. So could someone please help me out? Thank you.
Ive had a yeast infection before from wearing spandex type underwear/constricting clothing (at least thats the conclusion my old doctor came to since Im not sexually active). It's the same situation as last time. Theres the white-ish discharge, slight itching and odor. I just don't know how I got it. My friend had one not too long ago so I think it was maybe from her but I dont really know how I wouldve got it from her since we dont share clothing. I really don't know. I just want it to go away without having to go to the doctor. :s
