• Why is it so hard to find lesbian professionals?

I would really like to meet other lesbians who have professional careers. I find it impossible to meet lesbians who aren't drunks, strung out, or who actually have goals for their lives. I've met a very few, but it is extremely rare. Of course I wouldn't mind meeting some that were close to my age and single, but I'm absolutely certain that I'm asking WAY too much when I add that in. I'd just like to make friends with some worthwhile people who share my sexual preference. So.....am I the strange one for having a career and goals?
MySpace and Facebook are crap. Been there, Done that. As for "places professionals hang out," only straight professionals apparently hang out...

My hypothesis is "I think healthcare personnel show more bias toward gay, lesbian, and bi-sexual individuals, than any other profession, because of the fear of contracting HIV.

I'm bisexual and I've been out to all of the doctors and medical professionals I've seen since I was 19 and sexually active as an adult. No they do not judge me and I have told them some things about HIV/STDs and even about BDSM, fetishsex, and kink since I do practice it.
Are you out to any doctors or medical professionals who you see? If so why or why not? Do you think it's important to tell them about your sexuality?

I am in my early 30s and live in LA. I am a busy professional who works a lot and i am really shy. I am very feminine and people say "good looking" and it is hard to tell that i am a lesbian. I get a lot of affection from man, but none from woman. I am against dating sites. My friends and family don't know that i am a lesbian. Where do i go to meet a woman like me? Are there any places in LA for in the Valley to meet woman like me?
