• How do you know if you're having withdrawals from Lexapro..?

Or if you're just suffering from depression again?
I stopped taking my Lexapro (10mgs) a week ago and I'm been feeling awful since about the third day after I stopped. I just cry at everything - things that are not / have never been REMOTELY emotional to me.
Is this still withdrawal? Or is it my depression coming back?
(And I stopped on doctor's orders, not on my own accord, just so you know.)

I have not noticed a change in my panic or anxiety, it almost seems worse, is it possible that I am taking too small a dosage? Anyone have any general advice about lexapro? thanks!

I am tapering off of wellbutrin and started taking 10mgs of Lexapro a day. does it take a while to start feeling better? Did anyone ever feel better immediately? I have heard of people taking one or two pills of an antidepressant and swearing they felt instantly better. The Wellbutrin used to work but has started fizzling out on me after 6 years of using and that is why I switched to Lexapro. Also is 10mgs considered a super low dose or should this be fairly sufficient in relieving moderate chronic depression (dyshthymia)?

I just wanted to know cause im on lexapro 10mgs and I wanted to know if theres a risk of getting seritonin syndrom or anything like that if i decide to blaze a little thanks.

• Methadone and Soma and Lexapro.Adding that to my Methadone,will it sedate me more? Because I feel too sedated?

I'm on 90 mgs of Methadone for about 5 months almost now. Started on 10mgs of lexapro 5 days ago, and am now adding the Soma. My doctor does not know that I am on Methadone when I got prrescribed the Lexapro and the Soma. It made me quiet more drowsy when I started on the Lexapro. Them today I took a soma And it made my methadone feel almost twice as strong. Which of the medicines do you think is responsible for making me so drowsy. Should I cut one of them off? I don't want to be so high I'm like a vegetable now. I take the methadone because I got out of using heroin and have not touched it since. Which I plan to stick to even though I know it will be hard but I did enough of that, and that phase of my life is complete. Now I feel Its the Somas that are really knocking me out mixed with the methadone. I got the soma for shoulder blade pain from a car accident I was in. I would really like it if someone or a profesional in the medicalfield could give any ansewrs or suggestions.thx Joe

I have been put on 10mgs of Lexapro for depression. Today is my third day taking it and I normally taken it in the morning. I am still feeling out of it on the Lexapro. Is this normal to feel this way?

Iv been taking lexapro for over 3 weeks and want to increase my dosage and this is fine with my doctor but he didnt say that much about it! I was wondering if i will have any symptoms if i go from 10mgs to 20mgs and what side effects would i have thank you!

started it about 3 weeks ago tried changing times blah blah, only on 10mgs. I also currently take vyvanse for add.....i am thinking of coming off the vyvanse to see if lexapro works on its own....never had sleeping issues with vyvanse...i slept better...but started lexapro to stop agitation and anxiety in morning......which the anxiety has lessened and i am fine but NO SLEEP!

Has anyone ever taken Lexapro?
I just started (last night) 10mgs.
Within 20-30 minutes I was throwing up.
Alot.
And it lasted for a good 2 hours..
I also was pretty nauseous til I finally was able to keep down some Zofran this morning.
But still felt pretty dizzy, as still do.
Did you experience anything like this?
How long does it last?

My doctor finally called me back, she does want me to lower my tab to 1/2 every night. and yes it is for GAD, so this is exactly what I don't need! ha ha
But I'm still interested in everyones input or own experiences. Please let me know. Thanks again!

Hello everyone,, i am new to this board.... Today is my 9th day on lexapro 5mg. My doctor wanted me to start 10mgs after one week, but i asked for another week because i feel that im not ready for 10 yet. I am experiencing side effects pretty bad... although they are getting better, i have some nausea, headaches, feel a little "out of it", and the one that bothers me the most?! INSOMNIA!! I have to take a xanex at nite just to even be able to fall asleep, and i still wake up all night long. I notice that after i take my pill, for a few hours im kinda jittery, then around 5 hours after i take it im kinda zombied out... I guess what my question is is will these side effects, espicially the insomnia go away with time?? around how long? i need sleep in order to work!! and also my other question is, when i up my dose from 5 to 10mgs next week, will the side effects get worse?? Anyone that has any experience with this please give me some advice..doc says side effects will go away.....
