well i've been taking lexapro for a little over two months..but the last week or so i cut down to only taking it every other day..and now i have been off of it completely for 3 days..i know it is not recommended to drink while taking lexapro, but would it be okay if i had a few beers tonight since i have been off of it for 3 days?..

I have been taking prescribed lexapro for about one and a half months and am planning on drinking tomorrow night. I have heard that it is not a good idea to when taking lexapro, but would it be ok if I just don't take my dose of lexapro for the day and then drink? Thanks

I drink alot. Probably about 4 out of 7 days. I drink probably 2 Tilt energy drinks after work. They are malt beverages with ginseng and ect. I also drink heavy on the weekend. I noticed that the first week on lexapro when I didnt drink so much, I was feeling so much better. Now that I started drinking more again during the week again I feel like I felt before I started taking lexapro. I am on it for stress and anger issues. When I cut back my alcohol intake I didnt get stressed nor did i really ever get angry. But now that I started back....I get upset and stressed just as I did before taking lexapro. But I havnt had a drink in about 3 days and I kinda feel like I might be feeling better. Plz let me know
yes I read it....but all meds say do not take with alcohol. So I did it anyways. But I did notice that I stopped feeling good. I was in more bad moods then good

My friend told me about her friend who was drinking and she thought she was faking to be drunk and I know she takes lexapro so i was just wondering if that would have had an affect on anything.

• Drinking alcohol while on Lexapro for 2 weeks?

I've been taking Lexapro and Klonopin for about 2 weeks now. I had a couple episodes of panic attacks and anxiety attacks before. Went to the ER and they prescribed me to lexapro and klonopin.
2 days ago, I went out drinking with friends and overdid myself. Yesterday, I felt fine, no anxiety or panic attack. However, today, I had an episode of panic attack.
Could alcohol cause lexapro to not work and cause me to have one? I never had any anxiety/panic attacks nor depression ever since on medications except today. I did cut down on klonopin because the doctor recommended it.

I read that some people who are on lexapro and drink alcohol, the liver has a hard time metabolizing both and it could be fatal. Why isn't this on the Lexapro Website as A warning? It just says Alcohol isn't the best thing to do, but NO interactions with them both. That sucks because im on Lexapro and I like to social drink.

• Can you take topamax & lexapro and safely drink alcohol?

okay, so I take Lexapro 10 MG && Topamax 50 MG [twice a day] and they both have warnings that say "WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICATION, DO NOT CONSUME ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES"
would drinking while i'm on these really eff me up badly? or would it just make the medicine less effective?

My doctor has prescribed me lexapro to help control my depression/anxiety symptoms. I am a 25 year old male and weigh around 140 LBS (5-11 height) I happen to enjoy a few beers with dinner or a glass of wine. Is it alright to drink while taking this medication. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I heard you shouldn't drink with some antidepressants (MAOIs) because it can cause a stroke, but Lexapro isn't a MAOI.
I don't drink very often, and it's not like I'm going to get completely trashed or anything.
What would happen if I drank?
