• Is there a graph/chart that shows how much "strength" a dosage of Lexapro might have at a given time of day?

Basically, I take my Lexapro at night, before I go to bed, and I sometimes feel... better at night than during the day (before I take it), like emotionally and cognitively, so I'm wondering if this might be due to having "less" of it being in my system at night before I take it.

• Can I take my birth control and Lexapro at the same time?

I take 5 mg (for right now in a week my doctor plans to up my dosage to 10 mg) a day of Lexapro and I am also taking a low dosage of Reclipsen (generic of Desogen) I have been taking my Lexapro in the morning and birth control at night just because my doctor wanted to see what side effects of my Lexapro would have on me and it turns out it makes me very tired all day so she said I could take it at night. I was wondering if I could take the Lexapro at the same time I take my birth control?

• What would happen if I took two tablets of lexapro(10mg each) in the same day?

I don't mean at the same time but a few hours apart. I've had alittle alcohol today, and alot yesterday, but I won't be drinking anymore today since I'm out. I'm having some withdrawal symptoms too, like restlessness and depression, so I was thinking maybe taking more than my usual dosage, which is once a day, to help with this.

i have been on lexapro for a little over a week. i have taken 5 mg a day, with the exception of one day (day 5) when i took 10 mg. the 5 mg seems to be helping a little. i don't feel depressed anymore but i still have a lot of the anxiety. i am able to do some things now but not everything i would like to because of the anxiety. on 5 mg i have no side effects but when i took the 10 mg i was so dizzy and nauseous all day i couldn't do anything. my doctor suggested taking 10 mg again. should i try it? i dont want the side effects again and dont know whether i need the 10 mg or if all the anxiety will go away with the 5 mg given time. anyone have any ideas/experience with this?

• How do I convince my psychiatrist to up my Lexapro dosage, when he thinks I'm drug seeking?

It's gotten to the point that I wake up in the morning with brain zaps and withdrawals. Taking my Lexapro calms it after an hour or so, and I'm fine for most of the day. However, sometimes by the end of the day I'm being zapped, and I'm always zapped in the morning until my meds kick in. I also take Wellbutrin 300MG, by the way.
Lexapro doesn't even have an abuse potential, and I've been drug free since 2008, yet my doctor refuses to believe that the 20MG Lexapro doesn't last or build up as it should, and treats me as a suspect. He is literally the only psychiatrist in my small town, the next closest is approximately 100 miles away. The small hospital and one MD would check with the psychiatrist before issuing me any psychiatric prescriptions, then I'd end up arrested for pill shopping or something. What do I tell this psychiatrist to make him believe? Brain zaps and vertigo for hours each day negatively effect my quality of life, but without the Lexapro I'm angry, negative, depressed, belligerent (not necessarily all at the same time) and afraid to leave my house.
My diagnoses is bipolar and agoraphobia.

• Lexapro Withdrawl Issues? Please Help.?

Hi there, I just recently got off Lexapro because it did NOT work out for me at all. But the problem was, I quit cold turkey because my body couldnt take it. Now im experiencing some withdrawl symptoms. I was only on Lexapro for a week, and only consumed 50 Mg TOTAL within the week span. The moment I stopped, I took Paxil, 40 mg total [20 mg 2 times a day] Now ive been having these weird Withdrawl symptoms. If you count 99.7 F * A fever, then a fever, headaches, weird annoying small amounts of dizzeyness, Severe panicing everyone so often, I wouldnt consider it daiharrea but its deffinatly loose stools for the past 7 days, and ive been only off Lexapro for 4 days. Im also experincing tiredness, and irratiblity. I heard that these Lexapro withdrawl symptoms WILL BE THERE FOR 1 TO 8 WEEKS, is that true because I took such a small dosage?
Exact dosages. [ 1 - 4 days Half a 10 mg tablet 1nce a day for 4 days accomidated by 20 mg Paxil once a day ] [ on the 5 - 7 day 10 mg tablet 1 time daily ] How long do you think these withdrawl issues will stay in my body.
My mom thinks im doing some of it to myself because im SOO stressed out in the mornings and at night. I need to sleep with my light and television on. I went to school today tho, but I missed 3 days.
Any answers how long this will last?
Any sugestions.
And if ANYONE is considering STOPPING LEXAPRO COLD TURKEY, DO NOT. YOU WILL BE MISERABLE!!!!!

I'm prescribed to take 20 mg per day. I've been through some hard times lately, and feeling more depressed (not suicidal or anything...just sad). I'm wondering what the maximum dosage given for Lexapro is? And what happens if you take more than the max?

•Voting Question: Should I increase or decrease my dosage of Lexapro?

I've been on 20 mg of Lexapro for 3 months...and its going great. Only problem is I feel like I am only 95 percent "ME." To put it simply, its as if I can still feel 5 percent of my depressive sympthoms. Obviously, this is still pretty good, but I really would like to get to 100 percent somehow.
I am trying to decide if I should increase/decrease the dosage based on this and my side effects. Obviously, I would also consult my doctor before I did any of this, but I'd like some opinions from people who have taken Lexapro also and have found their "sweet spot."
My reasoning for raising the dose to 25 mg or so:
I am 95 percent...and improved rapidly up to 95 percent the first few days I saw results...perhaps I just need a slighly higher dose to reach 100 percent?
Reasons to Decrease Dose:
I have had some insomnia, tiredness, and low senses of anhedonia ("loss of pleasure")
Perhaps these are sympthoms of too high of a dose and if the dose was lowered, these sympthoms would go away and i'd reach 100 percent.
...I am obviously confused as to what the side effects entail and when is the time to increase your Lexapro dose...any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks :D.

• Lexapro and Alcohol?

My doctor told me its fine to drink while taking Lexapro.
My pharmacist said its better not to drink when you first start taking Lexapro.
The Lexapro website says to avoid alcohol.
Does anyone know a specific answer. I enjoy drinking, and I have to take Lexapro everyday, does this mean I can't drink for the whole time i'm taking it. And my doctor said its fine also. I'm probably going to be taking this medication for months. Also he gave me Zantax for when i have anxiety attacks. Is it ok to take a Zantax if i've taken my dosage of Lexapro that day?

• Think Lexapro dosage is too high...is it ok if I taper myself down to 15 mg?

Don't want to meet with Dr. He always just ups it or lowers it by 10 mg anyways. I think I am going to lower it from 30 mg to 25 mg for 3 days. Then from 25 mg to 20 for 3 days and then to 15 mg pemanently. Maybe even go to 10 mg if I feel I do not need it much.
Thing is I take it for anxiety which I have alot of as a law student but it is summer time now and I am feeling much more relaxed. Feel like I am on too much Lexapro.
Suggestions? Experiences with tapering off? I didn't take it all today and feel fine!
