Is there anyone out there that has found Lexapro to actually CAUSE drowsiness?

• Which side effects have you experienced while taking Lexapro?
|
I'm 20 & I've been taking Lexapro for anxiety. I've been taking it for about a month. The only side effects I've experienced were drowsiness & headaches. They're not severe, but I was wondering if it's normal? Other than that, I feel great.

• How long do side effects of Lexapro last?
|
I just began with 10 mg tonight for anxiety and depression, and I am completely whacked out. I feel like I could just sleep... and sleep... and sleep. I'm supposed to go to 20 mg in 10 days. How long can I expect this extreme drowsiness to last? Is this common? Thanks in advance.

• Sleepiness with Lexapro?
|
I know that Lexapro can cause drowsiness, but I literally only took my very first pill about 3 hours ago, and I suddenly can't stop yawning and feel like I want to lay down and pass out. Has anyone else experienced this? Feeling sleepy is much better than the anxiety I was having, but I still don't like it, since I have a job and a child to take care of. Any ideas?
Well, believe me, after feeling so panicky and wired for so long, feeling drowsy is very nice. But since I do have a job and a child, I will start taking it at night. If it helps me sleep better, that's great! I've had trouble sleeping too. Thanks everyone!! ANY relief from anxiety is welcome at this point.

• Lamictal dose or Lexapro cessation: which one is causing insomnia?
|
A few months ago, I started taking Lamitrogine for racing thoughts. My doc gradually increased my dose from 25, to 50, to 100 mg. I take 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night before I go to bed. This, combined with psychotherapy from my doctor had -greatly- reduced anxiety I had been suffering from for years. However, for over 10 years I have been taking Lexapro at a low dose (10mg every night) to help with anxiety. Three days ago, after talking with my doctor, I stopped taking Lexapro. Almost immediately after, it became extremely difficult to sleep at night. I go to bed at 10 or 11, lie awake for at least an hour, and feel exhausted when I get up in the morning. I am not sure whether this was caused by the loss of Lexapro's drowsiness (which never seemed to affect me -too- badly) or is a withdrawal symptom of Lexapro itself.

• Questions about the anti depressant Lexapro?
|
I'm a 15 year old female and I just took my first Lexapro pill earlier tonight for my depression and small bit of social anxiety. I was totally fine with taking these pills... until I started looking up information online.
I've seen all sorts of bad things about Lexapro. Weight gain, drowsiness, major behavior changes, anxiety, etc. And I've heard coming off these pills is really hard to do. I don't know, now I'm just not sure if I want to take these pills. I don't want to change that much, just get rid of my depression. Can I do that without pills? I'm actually kinda nervous/scared now. Should I stop taking them before they get in my system? I was prescribed by my doctor and therapist.
I want to hear from people that were on it, what was it really like? Helpful or not? Etc. Please be honest.
Thanks. :)\\
