• Lexapro Information... scared to see Dr... possible side effects..?

I am going through a Stressful time in my life.. My Dr first gave me a 5mg of Lexapro.. but after a few months decided to up the dose to 20mg.. I was against taking pills in the first place, so instead of starting the 20mg, I stopped all completely.. that was a few months ago... I wanted to just get over this on my own...although...A few days ago I got into a situation *NON suicidal* that made me believe the pills may help... I took one dose of 20mg.. and felt sick for the first couple hours.. At first I didn't relate the two... This morning.. I took another dose.. of the 20mg and now.. I am not sure if it is the correct wording.. But I see things kinda moving.. Very Small.. But lets say I focus on the TV... it looks like a piece of the wall moves.. so I look at it.. and nothing there... I am scared to tell my Dr though that I haven't been taking the 20mg.. and don't want to ask for a Rx of the smaller dose? Should I just cut the pills in half? Please no Stupid Answers...

• Antidepressants, Lexapro side effects if you decrease it or stop it?

I've been on Lexapro for about 6 mo.s for depression. I don't notice a huge difference, I think it may have helped some. I still have the same anxiety.
I started gaining weight, 10lbs so far, and don't want to keep taking it if I could do without it, as I take so much other medication. I hope to get off of much of it; try more natural things, and most are very expensive.
I've heard of people taking it for a period.
I hope I can find information here about how it feels to get off of it, or even if I reduce it to 5mg. I take 10mg now.
What type of side effects, how severe, for how long. How long will I be a menace? Kidding.
I have been pretty sensitive to getting on and off meds in the past, meaning I get side effects. I can tolerate it and 'get through it' if it's not too horrible.
I forgot to take the Lexapro for a day or two in the beginning. when I was traveling. Boy did I have crying spells, which I've never had, and felt bad. I didn't make the connection until later.

My doctor put me on Lexapro 10 mg, I would like to have more information about the side effects. Whats effected me most is insomia and I sometime feel like my skin is on fire!. Has anyone else experienced this- is this normal?

Is it possible that Lexapro is the reason I woke up today with no voice? Or laryngitis like voice? Or could it be something else totally? Any information would be helpful. Lexapro is the only medication I am on.

Dh is on the lowest dose of lexapro. It does not say on the pamplet anything about men using lexapro and side effects on the baby if their partner conceives. Can we ttc while dh is on this med and if so what are the possible side effects for the child? I can't find this information anywhere. Please help.

About a year ago I quit both of these medications cold turkey. I took them both daily for 1-2 years. 20mg lexapro 100 mg seroquel. Now since quitting, I feel like i can't take a full breath, I have no energy, my tongue and whole mouth feel swollen and my sinuses are terrible not to mention that every night only when I am falling asleep my nose clogs up. Plus I feel extremely dehydrated no matter how much water I drink, and my thoughts are very slow now and foggy. This all has been going on since quitting and has affected my daily life. Does anybody have any information on this or suggestions?

• Lexapro side affects.... should I take?

So about a month ago I went to the doctor and had the IUD Mirena incerted, while the insertion was painful (cause I have not yet had children) I haven't had much of a problem. Some cramping and spotting. Well my doctor dignosed me with a slight case of PMDD and he perscribed LEXAPRO. I started taking them about 2 days ago and I just feel horrible. I take them about 2 hours before bed b/c it says it will make you drowsy, and I don''t want to be drowsy at work, but every morning I when I wake up my heart is beating fast and I just feel so tired through out the day. My appetite is gone and I'm slightly light headed. Is this normal side effects? Will they eventually go away? Should I keep taking lexapro? Should I take at a different time?Any information would be appreaciated.

The IUD is not ther problem. I had PMDD before I even got put on the birth conrol

I was reading a question about the dosages of lexapro. 50 is not the highest. I was on 75 and they plan on raising it! It is a wonderful drug and no side effects for me! I just tried effexor and I wouldn't wish that drug on anybody! HORRIBLE headaches that do not go away!
Hey I am just saying that is what my pdoc had me on for almost 2 years now 75 mg and I did well on it! No side effects, nothing!
I am soooooooooo very sorry! I had to check what was in my wallet and you guys are right....it was 20 mg I was on! I am sorry for my mistake!
