• Lexapro Reviews and Side Effects?
|
I have suffered with anxiety, mild depression, ocd, and post traumatic stress disorder for the past ten years of my life. I've been on xanax for a while but the depression was something I couldn't deal with anymore. I'm not a person who likes to be on any type of medication but I do feel that I need medication. My psychiatrist prescribed me Lexapro 5mg and told me I could bump it up to 10mg after 2 weeks. I'm really nervous about starting it and wanted to know reviews. I don't want to experience side effects. Thanks!
I know how xanax affects me, I've never had any problems. I'm more interested in personal experiences with Lexapro and general thoughts on the medication

•Voting Question: Side effects of lexapro?
|
I've been on Lexapro for about two weeks now. Since i started taking it i get hungry really quickly after i eat. And its not a normal hunger feeling its like this weird and uncomfortable hunger, like if i don't eat now then my stomach is going to digest itself..but it doesn't hurt at all. I haven't read that extreme hunger is a side effect or read that anyone has had this side effect on any reviews of the medication. The weird hunger feeling is starting to suppress a little but still, its like not even an hour after i eat and i'm STARVING again not just oh, i want a snack..like i want an entire meal. Has anyone else experienced this? If not then i have other things i need to be concerned about! :-O Thanks :)
No hate answers please.

• Cymbalta! Side effects for young adults treating anxiety?
|
I'm currently 21 years old and my doctor has given me 30mg to start out this week than upped to 60mg next week of cymbalta for anxiety disorder. Does anyone else my age take this drug for the same reason? I'm looking for bad side effects that I should be aware of. While taking lexapro I had the worst side effects I could imagine and want to make sure I know what I'm getting into before hand. I have surfed the web and have read the common side effects but have yet to find any reviews from women my age using this drug?

•Voting Question: Is it true that Lexapro is cooler than other Antidepressants (or SSRIs)?
|
I have been doing research on this drug. Seems really good. Someone wrote their experience on it and says there is raving about this drug. At the website drugs.com there is more reviews for Lexapro than any other Depression drug. And yet it ranks higher than them all. But only a little bit. Still, Wellbutrin which gets a lot of good marks is .4 points less than Lexapro. It is out of 10. It has recorded less side effects and less chance of side effects too. Looks quite the medicine.

• I'm lonely, depressed, smoke weed and drink everyday, is lexapro my answer?
|
I find myself very unhappy with my life and the way that it's going. For years I have used pot and alcohol to cure the pain. Lately I've realized that, that is my problem, but I still suffer from depression with out it. I just went to the dr. and he gave me samples and a prescription for lexapro. I've spent all day reading reviews about the side effects. My three main issues is the suicidal tendencies that people face, weight gain and loss of sex drive. I've had issues with suicide in the past, will thoughts be extreme during the first couple weeks? even though I stopped drinking and smoking? If I focus on a healthy diet on this drug, will I still gain weight and finally will I ever have an orgasm on it?

CNN did a study and topped it with Zoloft as the most effective Antidepressant.
At http://www.emedexpert.com/compare-meds/escitalopram.shtml , its shown stronger and with less side effects than all other SSRIs. Its more likely to be stable and more likely to have a remission. It has lesser chance of side effects too.
It seems in every way better than all other SSRIs and more specific too. Is this true?

• Is there anyone who actually has GOOD things to say about Lexapro and how it's helped you?
|
I was just prescribed 20mg Lexapro today, and I am really discouraged reading all the terrible reviews from the people on Y!Answers about this drug. It seems as though everyone either says it has caused them to gain 25 lbs and not be able to lose the weight, or that it has killed their sex life completely. Now I am a bit scared to start this medication.
Is there anyone who has actually benefited from this drug without any crappy side effects? I'd like to hear some positive reviews!!

• Lexapro missed dose?
|
I was on Lexapro for two and a half weeks. I stopped taking it Monday, due to my Dr.'s advice that he didn't get good results for panic attacks with Lexapro. As I was taking the Lexapro, overall I think I was getting better, having very minor panic attacks. This morning, woke up and had a full blown panic attack like in the beginning. Another doctor suggested Buspar, but I took a Lexapro and plan to get back on it. It's just funny how after quitting it, I went back to the beginning and I've heard horrible reviews of Buspar. Do you think this is smart or will I have side effects again? I know it'll take a few more days to get in my system. Help please?
I asked my pharmacist and she agrees with me. I just didn't know if anyone personally happened to have had this experience.
