Ok so now they are switching from lexapro to celexa. What are some side effects and most importantly does it cause weight gain?

I took Lexapro and Abilify and they made me blow up like a balloon, so I had to stop using them.
So is there a medicine that has weight loss as a side effect, but no other bad side effects?

I am on wellbutrin and lexapro and I am experiencing weight gain AND sexual side effects-How can I know which one is causing this and how long until they subside? I was diagnost with anxiety. I've only been on them just a few weeks-three maybe? But ONE of them is doing a wonderful job-just last week I woke up and felt better than ever-no stress-no anxiety-just a good outlook-so now I am not sure which one is causing the bad side effects and which one is doing a good job! I have always heard that Lexapro causes weight gain but it so good for anxiety-wellbutrin is good for depression and causes weight loss-the sexual and weight gain side effects are what is important to me-ANY help?

• Lexapro and weight loss?

I'm currently taking 10mg of Lexapro each day. I have gained some weight since taking it, but I also believe its mainly due to the fact that I've been eating like a cow. So, I've decided to start Weight Watchers and I'm doing "The Firm" workout, which I've had success with before. Has anyone been able to lose weight while still taking Lexapro?? I'm hoping most of my weight gain is from eating and not a side effect of the drug.

my doctor recently prescribed me lexapro for depression and anxiety. I have been hesitant to start it because i gained 20 pounds over the last few years(i am 25) and have had some injuries and couldnt exercise. Hence the weight gain. I also craved a lot of junk on effexer, hated it! So i have been on a weight loss plan and have lost 8 pounds this month. I am so worried the lexapro will hinder me in that area. Supposedly it's weight neutral with low sexual side effects. i have heard it makes some people very sleepy. all this will interrupt my daily routine. Anyone have an answer or opinion? =)

• What are antidepressants with a common side effect of weight loss?

I was on Lexapro for about 9 months, which I stopped taking close to a year ago when I was 13. I had gained weight from the drug and still have the weight that was caused by it. A main cause of my depression is my weight. I am about to begin antidepressants once again, and I want to be on one that has a higher chance of weight loss, rather than weight gain. I researched and found out that some people have lost weight while on Prozac. I am going to talk to my doctor about taking Prozac, but I would like to know if there are other antidepressants that help with weight loss.

• can you take lexapro and remeron together?

Lexapro is a great antidepressant for me, but sexual side effects and weight loss is a problem with lexapro. On the other hand, Remeron does nothing for my depression and actually increases anxiety BUT increases my sex drive and eating. So, I'm thinking these could work well together but I'm concerned I could over-medicate or end up with Serotonin Syndrome which could be fatal.

I have an eating disorder (bulimia), depression, and ADHD. My psychiatrist has recently changed my antidepressant from prozac to lexapro, and I'm on adderall for the ADHD. I've been reading about lexapro's side effects online and a lot of people have said that the medication caused them to gain weight. This information is really important to me because I just got out of treatment for my ED, am in recovery, and REALLY don't want to end up using eating disorder behaviors to counteract any weight gain caused by my meds. Even if the lexapro does cause weight gain, would the adderall possibly negate that because of its tendency to cause weight loss? I know that this question is better suited for me to ask my doctor, but I already know what her response would be. She would tell me that I shouldn't coose my antidepressant based on whether or not I'll gain weight, but by how well it rids me of depression. Excuse the expression, but duh; I already know that, and gaining weight will just send me right back into my eating disorder. So any information would be extremely helpful!

• Does Topamax help counter SSRI (Lexapro) weight gain?

I've only been on Lexapro for 4 weeks, I'm starting to gain about a tenth or two of a pound each week, which is common with SSRIs. Most people who DO gain will gain gradually and end up gaining close to 20 pounds in a year.
I went to see my doctor today and explained the problem. He decided to put me on 50 mg of Topamax, in addition to Lexapro, since it has been proven to help people on SSRIs to lose weight. Its label use is actually for epilepsy and migraine headaches.
Has anyone else been put on this drug to counteract the effects of and SSRI? Or have you ever been on Topamax by itself and seen weightloss as a side effect?
What dosage is required to see weight loss benefits? Also, has anyone experiences hairloss with this drug? I've heard that can be a side effect.
