• Does anyone take Topamax and Lexapro together?

I have been prescribed both and the doctor said it's okay to take them together but I am afraid to do it! I loved the Lexapro for my anxiety and the Topamax so far is okay...but I have been on it only for 2 weeks. I haven't been feeling myself and want to take the Lexapro asap but don't want to skip out on the Topamax (for migraines)...If anyone takes both or has advice let me know!

okay, so I take Lexapro 10 MG && Topamax 50 MG [twice a day] and they both have warnings that say "WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICATION, DO NOT CONSUME ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES"
would drinking while i'm on these really eff me up badly? or would it just make the medicine less effective?

Lexapro = 20mg
Wellbutrin = 100mg
Xanax = .5
Atarax = 10mg
Elavil = 25mg
Not sure about the Topamax
Also, an entire bottle of Melatonin, an over the counter sleep aid.
And an entire month's worth of birth control pills, a bottle of neurotin, blood pressure medication, and potassium pills?

• My 16 year old has Migraines & depression. neurologist prescribed TOPAMAX 200mg & 20mg LEXAPRO. Is this OK?

Se is complaining of Sharp Pains in her chest and Dizziness which hasnt been a problem before the LEXAPRO. Her 1st dose of LEXAPRO was last nite along with her normal TOPAMAX 20 mg and today I had to pick her up from school because she said her Heart hurts. Do these medications mix well or not????

I've only been on Lexapro for 4 weeks, I'm starting to gain about a tenth or two of a pound each week, which is common with SSRIs. Most people who DO gain will gain gradually and end up gaining close to 20 pounds in a year.
I went to see my doctor today and explained the problem. He decided to put me on 50 mg of Topamax, in addition to Lexapro, since it has been proven to help people on SSRIs to lose weight. Its label use is actually for epilepsy and migraine headaches.
Has anyone else been put on this drug to counteract the effects of and SSRI? Or have you ever been on Topamax by itself and seen weightloss as a side effect?
What dosage is required to see weight loss benefits? Also, has anyone experiences hairloss with this drug? I've heard that can be a side effect.

I have tried midrin, imitrex,vicoden,zomig,maxalt,beta blockers,lexapro(antidepressant) and herbal therapy, for my migraines. Triptans work about 80% of the time, vicoden takes teh pain away for about 3 hours and the rest I get about a 20% success rate with. I have heard topamax usually works but with harsh side effects. I want to try it out because I can't take this migrain pain away. I want to see how bad I get the side effects so I can make my own decision. Is it hard to get a doctor to prescribe it? It is also marketed as a migraine med. I have done the research and know what to expect. I am getting excited thinking of releife and the possible weightloss. I hope I can deal with the memory & tinglies..... This would be a life changing event I have an appointment tomorrow to discuss this.

I am a mild bi polar with anxiety. On Lexapro and Seroquel, but the Seroquel is putting the pounds on, I swear I could never eat this much to gain like this. Does it help you lose, and what for does it come in? Pill or caspule?

I'm just afraid to add anything to that, she also takes topamax 25mg.
