• Lexapro vs Prozac for sex?
|
I found that Prozac almost completely shut down my libido. My Doctor said that Lexapro may have slightly less side effects. Can anyone who has had problems with depression/anxiety find an answer?

• Lexapro Vs Prozac?
|
My doctor recently switched me from 20mg or Lexapro to 20 mg of Prozac at my request due to financial reasons. I am worried about the sexual side effects as well as whether or not I am able to drink socially on this medicine. Can anyone share their experiences with Prozac?

• Lexapro Vs Prozac= less side effects??
|
I am a long time Prozac user, and asked my doctor about a possible change. I desired slightly more anxiety control and less low libido issues. He gave me a sample pack and stated that for some people, they had less side effects with Lexapro with the same efficacy. Can anyone who have used both let me know what I am in store for?

• Prozac Vs. Lexapro.. Should I go back to Lexapro.. Prozac isn't working for me?
|
Let's see I took Lexapro for nearly 3 years because of really bad anxiety.. It helped alot. About 2 months ago I lost my job and I've got to move back in with my parents. So I got pretty stressed out. This high stress in turn I think has caused my anxiety to resurface badly.. Like everyday all day badly. So a few months ago my doctor suggested trying Prozac. She didn't have me ween off lexapro. I just started immediately on 40MG of prozac after years of 20MG Lexapro.
I don't feel any better at all. Still stressed out. I'm thinking of switching back to the lexapro. Any suggestions? I just want to be able to work and live life again. This stuff is making me super tired and I never want to leave the house. :( Help..

• Lexapro vs Prozac?

Thinking about going back to one of these SSRIs and was wondering which one is better? I am most concerned about sexual side effects and weight gain. Especially from someone who has experience with both

• Prozac Vs. Zoloft. Which causes less constipation?
|
I have been prescribed Prozac 20mg for my anxiety. I have been taking one everyday for about 2 months. I didn't really experience any bad side effects at first. But then I started feeling a little dizzy, headaches and stomach pain. The dizziness and headaches have stopped, but I still feel stomach pain. And I have been having trouble with constipation. Towards the end of the first month of taking it, I was constipated for about 8 days. I saw my doctor about it and he prescribed me Colace 100mg. I take 3 of those a day. I'm still having trouble with the constipation and stomach pains and it's been about 2 months that I have been on these Prozac, and about 3 weeks that I have been taking the Colace. I am wondering if the constipaton and stomach pains are likely to subside? And if Zoloft would work and not cause the same stomach issues? I have tried a few anti-depressants before (Lexapro, Paxil, Zoloft), and Prozac has always seem to work the best for me and have less side effects, but this is the first time have had these side effects from it. Do other anxiety/anti-depressants have less side effects?? And would it be a good idea to switch to Zoloft??
P.S.
No smart ass answers please.

• Celexa vs paxil vs prozac?
|
Ok so here is the quick run down. I have tried wellbutruin, lexapro, and our currently on 20mg of celexa. Wellbutruin worked well but then I started having panic attacks. So tried Lexapro, HUGE drop in sex drive. Now on Celexa feel even more drepressed. I know side effects are different for everyone but would love so feedback on others experiences. So my question is should I switch to Prozac or Paxil? Or should I have my Celexa dose upped? The only side effects I worry about is putting on weight(I already have weight issues) and sex drive. I can handle headaches, dizzy, etc. I have no insurance so can't afford to pay $80 to discuss with the doctor. I was just curious about anyone else who sufferes from depression and has had experiences with different meds. Thanks in advance

• Ativan vs other anxiety meds?
|
I take Ativan .5 MG prescribed by my doctor to take when I'm having a panic attack. Not only do they not work, but when they kick in(when I take 2 instead of 1) it takes 30min-1 hour. I need something either with help the entire day or quick acting effects. I talked to him and he said that he can't prescribe anything higher or different for anxiety so should I change doctors? I am also in lexapro for anxiety and depression which helps neither . Any suggestions to quicker and stronger meds for anxiety(main question)? And what's a good depression medicine besides lexapro or Prozac(tried both)?

• vyvanse vs antidepressants?? details inside?
|
Ok so I know this is super long, but bear with me please :)
I have been dealing with serious depression since I was 14 years old; I am now 22. Before I start, please understand that I'm not one of those people who just had a bad day and went running to the doctor for some pills. Noooo no no. Depression, suicide, anxiety, and alcoholism run on BOTH sides of my family, so I got messed up genes. Plus, I have tried therapy, eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, exercise...I've tried to do as much as possible without medication. These things help, but I still definitely need a lot of extra help, hence the meds.
So, that's the back story. I've tried Prozac, Wellbutrin, Lexapro, Citalopram, Celexa, Trazodone, and probably a couple others that I can't remember. None of these antidepressants worked. I couldn't tell a difference AT ALL.
Then, my doctor suggested that maybe I had ADD/ADHD instead of depression. I took a little questionaire thingy and, as it turns out, I do have it. Sooo he prescribed Vyvanse. CHANGED MY LIFE! It was like all of the sudden the "real" me was unleashed from the mental prison that I felt like I'd been in all of that time. I was super happy, SUPER focused (at times I think a little too focused), got stuff done, etc etc. I was way more comfortable in social situations, friendlier, just all around happier and totally more "myself."
The only problem is, Vyvanse is sooooooo expensive! There's NO way I can pay 75 bucks a month. So my question is, what can I switch to that is as good as Vyvanse but not so expensive? I think I need something with a stimulant in it, since none of the antidepressants worked but Vyvanse made a HUGE difference. I've heard of Concerta, Strattera, etc, but I don't know how they are different/the same to Vyvanse. How exactly do these affect your brain? What are the long term side-effects? I am scared of ritalin and adderall because I've heard horror stories about people getting addicted and all kinds of stuff. I want to be on the lowest dose possible and take care of myself through eating right and exercising, etc. I don't plan on relying on a drug for everything, so I don't want something that I will get addicted to or something that will just work like a street drug and make me soar all the time, regardless of what's happening.
I've done a lot of research about different meds, add versus depression, etc. I just want someone else's perspective because I feel like I've hit a brick wall with my research...just trying to find the right med.
Thanks for reading!! :)
PS: how can I be sure if I have depression or if it really is just ADHD that has been misdiagnosed as depression? I mean, obviously the antidepressants didn't work and the ADHD meds did, so doesn't that mean i have ADHD? But sometimes I feel like the Vyvanse makes me a little too happy, if that makes sense. Or maybe it's just because I didn't know it was normal to feel that happy after being sooo sad all the time? How are you supposed to normally feel??
