• How long will it take the withdrawal side effects of Lexapro to subside?

This is the worst drug I have ever been on. How many zombies out there get hooked to these drugs because it is too mentally challenging to stop taking them? I've tried several times to stop taking it but after three or four days it was easier to just pop another pill. I am going on two weeks without and my brain feels like mashed potatoes. I am experiencing jitteriness, brain "zaps", ringing in ears, very vivid dreams/nightmares, confusion, memory problems and just an overall brain haze. Can anyone tell me when I'll get back to "normal"?

• Weird Lexapro side effects/withdrawal symptoms?

So about 2 months ago I was put on Lexapro for my anxiety. A couple weeks into it my anxiety seemed to have decreased significantly, but I felt very depressed and had extreme mood swings. The doctor then decided to up my dosage and that got worse. It caused me to have anxiety/irrational thoughts over accidentally hurting someone or saying something really mean to someone. I thankfully never acted on these thoughts and told the doctor I wanted off the medicine immediately. Its been a little over 2 weeks now and although the thoughts aren't as severe they are still there. The depression and anxiety are gone though but it just worries me how long these thoughts are going to stick around, I thought they would be gone once I stopped taking the Lexapro. I never had these kind of thoughts before the medication and I know that the thoughts are from the medicine and not my true morals and personality. Anyone ideas?

I was taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg and Lexapro 20mg together daily for a few years. I cant afford it with no insurance now and wanted to get off drugs anyway so I tapered of Lexapro... I was down about 2.5 mg a day until about a week ago. I stopped taking Wellbutrin cold turkey about a week ago but starting feeling lifeless and weak so I had to start taking it again yesterday. I feel lots of anxiety today and feel sick. I have been getting "brain zaps", flu-like symptoms, as well as anxiety from Lexapro withdrawal. Can anyone tell me how long this will last?

i heard the side effects of Lexapro withdrawal are awful, and i heard that your doctor may put you on valium or xanax to help counteract with the symptoms, has anyone been in a similar situation and could you help me out with this? thanks

I took Lexapro once last week I did not like how it made me feel so I stopped. Should I be worried about withdrawal side effects after one 5MG pills? I have been feeling chills and I'm wondering if it could be related. I took Celexa 6 years ago for two months and after I stoppped I felt sick for awhile.

I am currently taking lexapro 30mg. I would like to taper down and start to take wellbutrin.
Should I taper off lexapro fully first then begin wellbutrin? (so I can distinguish the wellbutrin effects from the lexapro withdrawal side effects?) Or not necessary.
Im going to my doctor Tuesday. Just wanted to hear thoughts.

I was going through very bad Lexapro Withdrawal side effects after taking 10 mg or a year. Today is two weeks since I took the lat 5mg. My head still hurts, neck is stiffed, I have mood swings, no energy and I fil kind of sick. I was on vacaion for a week durring this last two weeks with no lex so I had so beer everyday. Now I am back to reality and feel weird. How long will it last? I still take Lithium 300mg, lamictal 50mg and some xanax everyday.

I've been taking Lexapro 20mg everyday for about 5 months now. My refills on the perscription ran out so the pharmacy had to fax my doctor confirming that I needed more. I've been without it for about 2 week. But lately I've been feeling alot of pressure in my head and I get dizzy really often. I'm really twitchy and my pulse rate has been ranging from 110-140 whenever I take it. Whenever I hear sharp noises it literally makes me cringe and I feel like I'm going to pass out most of the time. I feel like I need to crack my bones but everytime I do it sends shivers up my spine. I've also been alot more stressed than most times, but thats obvious why. I think I should be getting it a couple days from now, but the side effects are simply agonizing. Is there anything to do that will make it subside besides the medicine itself for now?

• Stopping lexapro & it's side effects (brain zaps) how long will it last?

I haven't been on lexapro too long, 6 months perhaps at a 10mg dose for PND I recently have stopped & have noticed that I am having the withdrawal symptom of brain zaps/ slight dizzy spells. All I wonder is how long will it last? :) its only been the last two days & I stopped completely probably 5 days ago. Thank you :)
