• What is your experience with lexapro withdrawls?

I'm going to start taking this medication and I'm a little nervous about everything I've heard about the withdrawls. A lot of people said it's horrible?

• Withdrawls of going off Lexapro cold turkey?

Does anyone know any websites that lists the withdrawls you might get after getting off Lexapro cold turkey? I was on it for 3 months and my last pill I took was last Wednesday night (11/21). So far I havent felt too bad, just a little dizzy at times, but thats it.

I was on 10 mg of Lexapro for over 2 years. In the past month I have weened myself from 10 to 5mg every day....then every 2 days...then every 3....now I am done. I don't need this medicine anymore in my life. I am feeling cloudy....my brain hurts and it feels like when I talk..I have to stop and think about each damn word I say! My dr. never told me about the withdrawls..maybe cause I never asked...but they blow bad. I am just hopeful they are gone soon. Anyone else been through this..or going through withdrawls now? Lexapro did work for the first year...but the last year...I was putting off getting off it due to all I read about the horrible withdrawls. I hope this question makes sense...since my brain is so cloudy!
I talked to my Dr in the spring...April of this year....cause I couldn't sleep....tested my thyroid...that was fine...so he gave me 20mg....daily..I did that for about 5 days....and no change...so I went back to 10 mg...and yes. He said it was up to me on then to be off...since I was doing so well, besides the sleep thing. I wished I never went on this damn lexapro..I have no sexual appt....I can't sleep...I never gained weight....I have lost 36 pounds since last Nov...via diet/excercise.....I am about to get my period...that could be why I am cloudy today....yesterday I was fine....I think drugs for anxiety and depression need better testing.
Note....The main reason I went on Lexapro in the first place was I went through a breakup with my bf at the time....and needed some sort of help....a friend recommended I see a dr. I did...Lexapro is a SHORT term depression drug....I feel better emtionally now ....since being off the lexapro....just can't stand the cloudy brain and zaps.
On lexapro....I have teeth grinding problems in my sleep...no sex appt.....couldn't sleep well the past 6 months....had no emotions at all....which is not like me at all.....This week I have felt the most like my old self....MINUS any mild depression I have 2 years ago. I think alot was men and weight related.

• Anyone with Lexapro Withdrawls?

I had been taking Lexapro 10mg for about 6 months. I did well why i was on it, however weight gain was a big problem. I feel like i can function now with out lexapro. About 1 week ago i stopped taking it all together. btw there were many days i didnt take it i would skip a dose here and there. anyways i stopped taking it. First i got sick, vomiting fever, now the only symptoms i have are really bad nightmares, and sometimes i feel like i am walking on clouds. It has been about 8 days since my last lexapro. I was wondering how long before it is all out of my system all together and everything is normal again. Thanks!
well i guess i didnt wean off of it so much. at the end i would take it every other day. but i guess that isnt the best weaning off of it. The flu like symptoms that i have read about are over now if i could get rid of these nightmares!

I was on 20mg of lexapro, for about 2 months. I just stopped taking it cold turkey... Because it wasnt helping, and I feel like my fam pract. didnt really listen to my problem and instead just prescribed this shitty ass drug because it is the "most popular, and one of the less sideeffect antidepressent out there".
I stopped taking it and didnt tell him, I know thats bad. But pretty much I have never felt so weird in my life. Everytime I stand up, look a different way, or make any sudden movement; I get this like numbness through my whole body. Its like just for a second but its something ive never felt... I also feel like gagging every 5 min and feel like im going to throw up... Also massive headaches.
How long does this last?!?!? Ive been off it for like 4 days... This is driving me nuts!!
Any info much appreciated!
Never mind just figured out these are called brain zaps and that im just expierenicing them through my whole body. freeking lame

okay here it goes,lol. ive been on lexapro on & off since i was about 18, im 23 now, weening myself of it now because i just started to feel like i dont care about anything!, my job, friends, boyfriend.... but forever people have been telling me it sounds like horomones, i sweat easily (especially my HANDS) i have major moods swings up & down, scared i might be bipolar,
have also battled depression from the anxiety i had badly...anyones thoughts, advice or ANY POSITIVE honest words/advice are GREATLY appreciated. thanks so much everybody :) have a better day than me.............lol

Hi.ive been on cipralex for a year...
i decided it was time for me to come off,so my dr told me to ween myself off.
i went from 10mg one tablet...to a half[5mg] for a week..then a quarter for a week,and then a quarter every second day for a week.
iv been off for 2 days now,and im experiencing such horrible symptoms.
feeling so tired,sore everywhere,nauseas,bad headaches,dizziness/light headed..and just bad in general.. is this withdrawls? did i come off the wrong way?
I really do not want to take any more.even if its a half or quarter,i refuse.whats the worst that could happen to me? will this get worse?
advice please.

I've been on 20mg depressant lexapro for about 4-5 months now, and I talked to my Dr. to quit and he told me to take 10mg for a week then quit. Well I have done that and now I've been having headaches everyday, now I'm having dizziness, along with fatigue.. All day today I've felt weird, If I moved the room was spinning, I had a headache all day as well... Has anyone experienced any type of with drawls from lexapro that has these symptoms ? If I keep feeling this way I will contact my Dr.... I don't wanna be on anymore ADs. Yea, also tonight I been experiencing some nausea...Please if anyone knows anything please tell...

Ive been on lexapro @ 10mg for a month now, i have anxiety problems. i found this website talking about lexapro withdrawls and how they last for along time and are very unpleasent and now thats all i can think about, im panacking really badly because i cannot stop saying wow look at all these people going threw these symptoms after they stoped lexapro, im going to have to go threw it 2. Im feeling hopeless, i dont know what to do, i hate medicine, but then again the thought of not having some thing to take the edge off scares me.... its hard to explain i worry about every thing and now im worried about the drug about how im going to have withdrawls.... i hate life plz offer some help to me i really need it. and if you have taken lexapro plz offer some support if you can to me by telling me in your answer that you have EMAILED me (camelsavv07@yahoo.com) thats 2 v's after the your AOL screen name so we can talk on there 2. thanks alot.
