• How to discontinue lexapro and side effects question?
|
Hello everyone
I've been taking Lexapro 10mg for about 5 months and am kind of uncomfortable about the fact that I am taking this med.
I wanted to ask if this medicine effects your memory in any way. Has anyone heard of this side effect of Lexapro?
Secondly, because of the fact that my doctor got angry at me after I asked if I could quit, I thought i would give the internet community a try.
How does one quit Lexapro healthily? Please share some of your experiences.
It would be great help if the community can answer these 2 questions.
Thank you.

• Lexapro side effect question...!?!?
|
I stopped taking my lexapro for about a week. I wanted to get off it and stop cold turkey. During the week, I was having these weird feelings in my head, almost like my brain was shaking or swooshing. i know, it sounds weird. Also, my typical pre-lexapro weight was about 140. While i was on it, I was enjoying being between 125-130. being that im 5'3, it was nice. but literally the day i stopped taking it i shot right back up to my normal weight. also, ive been sooooo agitated and just out of it. i took one this morning and called the clinic up and they gave me a month of samples again. i feel normal again, no more brain swooshes and not like i wanna eat the friggin couch.
so has anyone else ever had these side effects?? also my skin was itchy alll over and i felt like my face was burning. when will my weight go back down? i miss my skinny size 7's :)

• Lexapro side-effect question?
|
I took my first dose today for mild depression and severe to mild anxiety. It was 5 mg. However, I felt this period of time where I was very hyper and energetic. It wasn't a bad feeling, just a very high high...for about an hour and a half. Now I'm fine and just feeling normal. Can you really feel the effects of Lexapro so early on? [First day, a few hours in?]

• Anyone had any sexual side effects from lexapro?
|
I'm truely sorry if this sounds like an inappropriate question but I don't care about what I read in the pamphlet. With my ex, I totally lost my drive, but I wasn't happy w/him anymore to begin with and knew the relationship was about to end. So I don't know if the Lexapro might have also contributed to my losing it. Anyone had problems w/lexapro in this area or any other areas?

• Side effects of Lexapro?
|
I have been reading a lot of the questions about Lexapro. I know that usually there aren't many side effects the first few days. However, I have only been taking it for three days, 10mg dose and I find that about an hour or so after I take it, that I feel very anxious and jittery. I also get acid indigestion and have a lot of nausea. Also, it's hard to sit still and I feel like my heart is beating faster than it normally does. Has anyone had these side effects from taking Lexapro? If so, how long did they last, did you continue to take it or stop? If you stopped, did your doctor give you something else that didn't cause you side effects.
Thanks for your answers.

• Help...Serious question....Lexapro?

I have been broken up with the love of my life for about a month now, and took the breakup very hard. I've been battling depression my whole life but this put me over. My Dr. gave me Lexapro- but I always used mind over matter to get through shit. I've seen worse breakups than this- but I really loved this dude. Does anyone have any imput on Lexapro? Side effects...etc..., and maybe some tips on getting over someone? :(

• Weening or stopping Lexapro because of side effects?
|
All of you doctors or nurses out there I have a question about getting off Lexapro. I have been taking Lexapro for about 9 months, originally I was prescribed 20mg and was increased to 40mg about 4 months ago . In the beginning I was using marijuana and oxycodone with the Lexapro and experienced no side effects. Now I have been off of marijuana for 3 months and oxys for about a month and went through about a week of withdrawal symptoms from getting off oxys. Recently I have been having nausea, diahrea, tremors, and increased sweating. My psychiatrist said to stop taking the Lexapro immediatly, while my regular physician said to ween myself off. Any input from educated people about this would help me alot. I am debating what to do.....Thanks :)
No drugs are being used except prescription xanax. Thanks

-I have had a constant head ache
-I wake up to my heart racing (im talking it feels like it going to jump out of my chest.)
-I have been getting on average 4 hours of sleep a night when I normally get 8-9.
-I am sooooo sleepy
-I find myself constantly clenching my teeth
-I find it hard to concentrate
-I have had two full on panic attacks
-I am having sever mood swings.
I feel the urge to do something like walk around, I cannot sit still.

• What are the most common side effects for women taking Lexapro, and are the results worth it?
|
I was recently prescribed Lexapro for my depression and anxiety.
As of now I have only taken it once in a small dosage as recommended by my doctor to start me off.
I have been reading up on the side effects and have seen many woman complaining about extreme weight gain, fatigue, libido issues, mood swings, and many other negative side effects. After reading about these issues I have begun to question whether or not I would like to continue taking Lexapro.
I also heard it is VERY hard to discontinue use once you have been taking it for a while.
I understand all anti-depressants have side-effects, but I want to take the medication I believe is best for me. If I continue to have doubts I plan on contacting my doctor and discussing it with him.
Has anyone taken Lexapro before and had any particular side effects? If so, what ones? Are they worth dealing with to rid me of my depression and anxiety?
