• how easy is to get rental properties in melbourne?
|
lived in perth my whole life and come 2011 im looking at moving over there. alot of the stuff on here which is about the rental market is a few years old so I thought i'd ask again.
for someone who isn't a student (as in graduated and working) how easy/hard would be getting a sharehouse with a few mates in a nice suburb of melbourne?
also, what sort of rents are people paying? the rental properties online dont seem to be that expensive and there seems to be a fair few of them.

What kind of insurance is required for a strata title property in Perth City Australia. If the management covers insurance for the building which is deducted from rental, what kind of insurance should the landlord buys, assuming he owns one unit in the building?

• What should we be looking for in a rental apartment in Perth, Australia?
|
My partner and I are moving to Perth early next year. We will be rental-hunting on arrival (and prior to arrival by internet). I am wondering what things we need to look out for, what we should be certain to have (airconditioning? pool?) and basically how to spot a good apartment.
I say apartment because we have rented a house on a large property before and discovered we are not gardeners in the slightest. The less grass and gardens the better.
Cheers :)
Yes, that is what I would like to know, what do we NEED to look for in an apartment. Some people living in Perth might say airconditioning is a necessity, for all I know. That is why I am asking. Some might say fly screens. Some might say... you get the picture. I am looking for useful answers.
Thanks anyway.
I guess Im wanting suggestions of common pitfalls of apartments over there, I've never lived in an apartment before. So viewpoints from those in the know would be appreciated. Cheers :)

• Advice on perth please?
|
hi:)
my husband and i and our two children are planning to move to Perth within the next two years.
Ive done plenty of online searches for rental properties but am very confused at the sheer amount of areas available.
I would love if someone could maybe help me out?
Important things would be:
Within walking distance to a good primary school(daughter is 8)
Within walking distance to grocery stores
In a quiet safe area
Not too expensive
Thank you so much for your help :)

• What are the most suitable suburbs for me to live in? (Perth, Australia)?
|
Hi all,
I am considering making a career move to Perth, WA.
I would be working in the Welshpool area, and ideally would like a rental property/apartment within 30mins drive of that. I am reasonably young, single and enjoy the beach (so being close-ish would be a perk!).
My 'essentials' are;
- I want to live in a safe area, where crime is not a big issue
- I am not willing to spend more then $200 a week. I would prefer $130-$180 (I don't mind sharing a property/renting out a room etc.)
-Within 30mins drive of work
What suburb(s) fit this criteria?
Thanks for your help :)

• Cost of living: is Brisbane becoming more expensive than Sydney, Melbourne & Perth?
|
Hi everybody
What's happening with the cost of living in Brisbane?
I was considering moving to Brisbane but was very surprised to find out that rentals and general cost of living have gone so much up over the last few years!
Brisbane used to be very affordable, but now it seems that rentals are more expensive than in Melbourne (when comparing rental properties in in close proximity to good public transport and of similar type) and are about the same as in Sydney.... It also seems that prices of fruit and veggies have gone up a lot, and public transport (especially if you end up living outside zone 2) is quite expensive, too.
Is that trend continues? Is Brisbane becoming the 'new Sydney' or the 'new Gold Coast'? What do you think? What is your experience?
Would love to hear opinions from locals and from people who moved from interstate recently and/or travelled around. All opinions and imput will be appreciated.
Thanks :-)

• Investment Property Claiming Renovations?
|
Ok I had bought an investment property in Perth (August last year) and I renovated it straight away spending $15 000 (total) on a new kitchen, bathroom, tiles painting etc it needed the renovations as it wasnt the best place to get a decent rental income. I went and saw my accountant last week and he told me I was unable to claim the $15000 i spent on the renovations (because of something about capital renovations or purchases) but I can claim a discount off the capital gains tax when i sell the property. Im 24 and dont want to sell it for at least 15 years. Is this right? Iv spent 15 000 on genuine renovations but I cant claim this? Please help. Thank You.
