• side effects of coming off lexapro and abilify?

i have an anxiety disorder, but i just recently took myself off of abilify and am now down to a half dose of lexapro. this is because the side effects of being on it were too much for me to handle.
i've been constantly vomiting, every single day, and i have forgetfulness and headaches and incredible, unbelievable fatigue. i'm also very sore in places i shouldn't be, like arms and legs when i haven't stressed them.
my question is, how long is this going to last?
if a long time, then is there any way to cope so i won't be so miserable?
(and don't say go back on it, because that's not an option.)

I've been on "the 'pro" for about 6 months now. I can't say enough about what it's done for my anxiety... but the physical side effects are annoying. Just when I think I'm past it, one will come back. Throughout the 6 months I've experienced forearm pain, chest tighness, blurred vision, leg pain, loss of appetite and sore knuckles (feel like I want to crack them all the time). I never had any of this before the Lexapro, but most people say the side effects go away after the first few weeks. Should I worry?

I love the way I tolerate EVERYTHING while taking this, but I have gained 40 lbs and could care less if I don't get up off the couch and exercise....I have low energy, libido, longevity at any task now. This will be my 2nd try at weaning off Lexapro. Last time I no tolerance to high stress situations, couldn't think straight, I hurt so bad I couldn't sleep.....Any advice?

I have followed doctors instructions and come off the drug very gradually, but a day or two after i stopped all together I am very dizzy to the point of needing to faint when i stand up? Anyone experienced this or know if it is normal or how long it may go for?

My partner currently takes lexapro and even if he has one beer it makes his arms numb. Is this normal? or is it the panic attack symptoms. Also how bad are the affects of coming off the kalma and what steps should be taken to reduce the panic attacks once stopped? THANKS:)

I was taking 10 mg of lexapro for about a 1 1/2 years and this year in January my doctor increased my lexapro to 20mg, but after a few months I had decided to tapper off because i have notice an incredible weight gain and i felt and still fell like am ready to come off.. well my doctor told me to start cutting my tablet to 10 mg for a week and a half and then stop but it's been awful. today is my fourth day without it and i fell tired and somewhat sad (but not too bad) and am not sure but I might have a Sinus Infection... can anyone tell me if am going to start feeling better and how long is this going to last. I just cant get back to the meds it's actually making me feel worst with the weight gain and it cause for me to be pre-diabetic.... please someone guide me.... thanks.. BYT am taking vitamin D3 and omega fish oil.

I have been on lexapro for 2 years, and then went off for a while and sorry for being so blunt, but while off of it i could get off so easily, it was great. but my anxiety came back so i have been back on it for a week, and i cant get off at all now! maybe it takes longer but thats way too long. does anyone know of any alternatives to lexapro, or something that will offset the sexual side effects?
any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

• Tapering Off after 10 mgs of Lexapro for 5 months -Terrible side effects -Want to quit?

I am going to see a doctor very soon but the side effects -headaches, stomach aches, cannot function in AM, zombie feeling, etc. is ruining my life. I know I can't go off cold turkey but until my appointment can I cut the pills in half yo make it 5mg until I see the doctor and continue reducing the meds. I cannot go to work because I cannot move in the morning. I tried talikng it at night and at 3 PM daily. My GP prescribed it with Xanex and that really made me almost camotose. I began taking this at his reccommendation because I got depressed and had panic attacks my first semester in college. I came home and was a mess. I feel better now late in the day and in the evening and all my dreams and desires are there. I make plans for the next day and in the morning I can barely speak. My GP thinks I need to stay with it and see a specialist for my stomach. My Mom is getting me to a pharmacologist but it will take some time. Any advice?

I am a 44 yo male. My dose of Lexapro was increased 3 weeks ago from 10 to 20 mg. Since the increase, my libido has greatly diminished. This is the first time on Lexapro where I've experienced a side effect. I have been on and off it almost 3 years including times on the 20 mg. During these times being on 20 mg, I have never had ANY side effect. Why do I have a side effect now when I didn't before? Thanks.

Im a recovering anxiety sufferer, not having panic attacks anymore, finiished the in depth therapy, and am ready to come off lexapro. Spoken to the professionals on this, but am a bit scared of the side effect of coming "down".
Wondering if others out there ahve anyhelp for me
My biggest problem is im about to go it alone in life after a 6yr relationship, im a bit worried how it will all go, but im determined to come off the drugs,
Please help....
