• Can lexapro cause side effects on and off as long as you take it?
|
I've been on "the 'pro" for about 6 months now. I can't say enough about what it's done for my anxiety... but the physical side effects are annoying. Just when I think I'm past it, one will come back. Throughout the 6 months I've experienced forearm pain, chest tighness, blurred vision, leg pain, loss of appetite and sore knuckles (feel like I want to crack them all the time). I never had any of this before the Lexapro, but most people say the side effects go away after the first few weeks. Should I worry?

• side effects of coming off lexapro and abilify?
|
i have an anxiety disorder, but i just recently took myself off of abilify and am now down to a half dose of lexapro. this is because the side effects of being on it were too much for me to handle.
i've been constantly vomiting, every single day, and i have forgetfulness and headaches and incredible, unbelievable fatigue. i'm also very sore in places i shouldn't be, like arms and legs when i haven't stressed them.
my question is, how long is this going to last?
if a long time, then is there any way to cope so i won't be so miserable?
(and don't say go back on it, because that's not an option.)

• Has anyone had success after going off of Lexapro?
|
I have been on lexapro for approximately 4 years. I am attempting to taper my dosage, and eventually get off the medication. I am hoping to loose the sexual side effects. Has anyone noticed a reduction in this from lowering the dosage? Also, how long after you are completely off the medication do these side effects go away?

• Weening or stopping Lexapro because of side effects?
|
All of you doctors or nurses out there I have a question about getting off Lexapro. I have been taking Lexapro for about 9 months, originally I was prescribed 20mg and was increased to 40mg about 4 months ago . In the beginning I was using marijuana and oxycodone with the Lexapro and experienced no side effects. Now I have been off of marijuana for 3 months and oxys for about a month and went through about a week of withdrawal symptoms from getting off oxys. Recently I have been having nausea, diahrea, tremors, and increased sweating. My psychiatrist said to stop taking the Lexapro immediatly, while my regular physician said to ween myself off. Any input from educated people about this would help me alot. I am debating what to do.....Thanks :)
No drugs are being used except prescription xanax. Thanks

• Lexapro, are these normal side effects?
|
I just started lexapro a few days ago. I started taking it at night, expecting it to make me drowsy, but it does the opposite. It's like having a few shots of espresso, get very energized and can't sleep at night for more than a few hours. I also get this feeling that blood is rushing to my head, it's a tingling sensation. I also noticed that sometimes my vision is blurred but it goes away in minutes, after i get out of bed. I would start taking it in the morning but I don't want my vision to be blurred while driving, so I figure night time is the best time to take it so that most of the side effects wear off by the time I have to get up. I also have dry mouth sometimes. IAnyone else having these side effects?
One good side effect that I like about lexapro is that it's helping me to not crave chocolate and other sweets. In fact some foods even taste bad now. Which I like, because I gained a lot of weight while I was on Paxil and it took a long time and a lot of hard work to get it off
