I quit chewing tobacco about a month ago and am feeling fine. Almost no cravings left for the stuff, a little anxiety here and there. I had been chewing for three or more years about a can a day. I have also taking 10 mg of lexapro (an SSRI antidepressant) for a couple of years. My question is: I know that nicotine cessation causes a big change in brain chemistry and so does coming off of anti-depressants, so how long does someone need to wait after quitting nicotine before it is safe to come off of anti-depressants. Thanks in advance.
Quitting one has nothing to do with the other really, I just thought it was time to get rid of all the toxins I am putting in my body. I have talked to my doctor and he has said that its ok, but I forgot to tell him that I had recently quit nicotine too.

I started taking the SSRI lexapro 5 weeks ago and about 2/3 weeks in I noticed significant benefits.
So I have a 6 month prescription from my doctor. Does that mean that I have to stop taking them after those 6 months are up?
I would like to get off them as soon as they are no longer needed because they give me libido problems and trouble getting to sleep.

Last night I woke up at about 4 AM distressed, anxious, and unable to stay still. I have been taking lexapro, an SSRI antidepressant for 4 days, but I have been worried about the sexual dysfunction side effect it has. I tried to masturbate but couldn't maintain an erection and I got so worried I decided to quit taking the antidepressant. I really care about my sexual life, and I won't sacrifice it.
Then I thought about something interesting but scary at the same time. What if the drug companies / the government is engineering antidepressants to have an intentional side effect of causing sexual dysfunction so that those who are depressed cannot reproduce as effectively, thereby preventing their depressant genes from entering the population? Maybe we are entering the age of being controlled by the drugs we take?

I am on 20mg/day of Celexa (a generic form of Lexapro, the SSRI antidepressant)and would like to hear from someone who has smoked weed while on a similar medication (same doseage/medicine)
I talked to my doctor already and he said it is not dangerous, i just want to know if anything is different and am a little hesitant to smoke (although I would LOVE to again)
Also, please dont tell me not to smoke or any of that BS, thats not what I asked

• Lexapro as treatment for premature ejaculation?

For those of you who don't know, Lexapro is a SSRI Antidepressant. One of it's most common side effects is difficulty achieving orgasm.
I have been on this for a few weeks, and I love it. It takes me when I'm watching porn 20+ minutes to ejactulate, when before it was like 3-4 LOL. It's awesome.
How come this isn't used to treat premature ejaculation? Who DOESN'T want sex to last longer??

I am contemplating asking my Dr. to put me on an anxiety medication due to being overly stressed out at work. I have ruled out benzos due to their addictiveness and also the SSRI antidepressants (Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil, etc.) due to common side effects like weight gain and loss of sexual interest. I have narrowed it down to Wellbutrin b/c of low side effects. Has anyone taken Wellbutrin for anxiety? If so, did it work and what kind of dise effects did you experience?
