I started Lexapro recently, which states that it can take 4-6 weeks to take effect. My question is if I stop taking this medication for a few days to get it out of my system but I begin taking it again in a week or two, will it once again take 4-6 weeks for me to feel the effects and for it to work properly again? When I first started it took 3 weeks for me to feel it working.

I have been prescribed xanax to stop fast heart beats and panic attacks caused by lexapro. I have been advised to stop taking Lexapro and I have been taking it for 2 days. Anybody know when the fast heart beat should stop? And if it is ok to take .25mg xanax 3 times a day.

I am planning to drop acid in two weeks and so wont to take myself off of lexapro for 2 weeks, appearantly it decreases the effect of the acid... I have been on Lexapro for awhile now and I want to stop taking it. I know I should stop it slowly, so I wanted to know what the best way to do this is.
I take 1 10g pill a day, I was going to start taking a half for 2 weeks then do a 1/4 for 2 weeks, then stop. Ideas?

I stopped taking Lexapro April 21st and want to start trying to get pregnant in September. Is this enough time for my body to get back to normal? At least enough so that the baby won't have any defects.
I took it for anxiety right after I got married & moved over 300 miles from my hometown & life as I knew it. There's no family history of depression. A doctor - our primary care physician - prescribed Lexapro. Oh and I'm back in my home town so things are somewhat back to normal.

the problem is it seems to have lost it's effectiveness on my panic! or my panic has got worse, i'm on 20mg which is the highest my dr can percribe. i heard if u stop taking it and start uo again it can help. any suggestions?? i have tried paxil and cymbalta neither helped, prozac is the same as lexapro
