• Can you get withdrawal symptoms from one dose of lexapro?
|
So I took my first 2.5mg dose of lexapro today and after doing some research on some of the horrible withdrawal experiences, I decided that I would rather not take the drug at all. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone on here has had experience with lexapro and if it is possible to get withdrawal from a single dose. Thanks for any help!

• WILL I experience withdrawal symptoms from lexapro?
|
I'm 15 and my doctor gave me lexapro almost 2 weeks ago for social anxiety disorder. He gave me 2 sample packs to see if they would work for me (they havent). That's a total of 14 pills. I was was supposed to come back in 15 days, whichs means that on the day I go back to the doctor, I won't have a pill to take. I have school on the day I go back, so I'm worried that I will experience withdrawal during school, which will start over 24 hours after my last dosage.

• How long will I experience withdrawal symptoms from coming off Lexapro?
|
I weened very slowly off of Lexapro, as directed by a doctor, and have been experiencing numbness, tingling, panic, extreme mood swings, insomnia, and sleeping for 13 straight hours once able to sleep. I went to www.rxwiki.com , and that site lists every one of these things as a symptom of coming off the drug suddenly. I did not come off suddenly, and am wondering how long these symptoms are supposed to last. Of course, it's Saturday, so I can't call my doctor about it until Tuesday. (She doesn't work Mondays.)

• Has anyone switched from Lexapro to Citalopram?
|
From what I have been reading, most people seem to go from citalopram to lexapro. I am the other way around. Mostly because of financial reasons since I lost my health insurance. I'm worried that I will get the withdrawal symptoms from going off lexapro as well as the side effects for starting a new drug. Any thoughts or facts would be great. Thanks so much.

• Can withdrawal from Lexapro cause night terrors? If so, how can I prevent them?
|
I took Lexapro for 3 years and stopped it about 3 weeks ago. I tapered off, but not slowly enough. I am experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, like dizzyness, general malaise, trouble sleeping, and irritability. But I am also experiencing night terrors (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_terror ) and am not able to sleep because of them!
I have experienced night terrors before, usually when I'm over-tired and immediately go into REM sleep. But now I'm wondering if this is part of the Lexapro withdrawal, since Lexapro has a "vivid dreams" side effect.
What's happening to me is that I drift to sleep, have a night terror which always ends with my trying to scream "help me!" to wake myself up, then I wake up. I am usually afraid to go back to sleep, but I try anyway. Within an hour, I have another night terror, and this continues all night. So I am not getting half the sleep I normally get.
Any advice on dealing with these night terrors would be appreciated.
The more I research, I think instead I might be experiencing sleep paralysis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis ) instead of night terrors.
Either way, they are horrible!

• I am currently in withdrawal from Lexapro, and been having a symptom of a shock-like feeling in my heart...?
|
I weened off of this medicine from 20 to 15 to 10 to 5 to 0, and now at 0 I'm getting these sort of shock sensations that feel like they are originating in my heart and sometimes my wrists. It happens several times a day and usually occurs more than once at a time. What might this be? Is this reason for concern? Thanks

• Withdrawal from lexapro?
|
I have been having horrible body aches, the worst headache that I have ever experience (going on day 4 now), it looks like the room is spinning around me, and extreme nausea. I have been VERY aggitated and verbally agressive too. It is really causing issues in my personal life. I stopped taking Lexapro about 5 days ago, after only being on for 3 months. Could this be the cause? I have NEVER felt like this. I feel so anxious but yet exhausted. For the past 2 nights, I have slept HORRIBLE and had very weird dreams. I woke up every 2 hours on the dot last night. It wasnt until just a few minutes ago that I considered this could possibly be side effects of stopping the lexapro. What really aggravates me is that my doctor told me it is NOT addictive and will not suffer withdrawal symptoms after stopped. I mean, goodness gracious, I have never done drugs but I can only imagine this is what a drug addict feels like after stopping. I feel like I am going to go nuts. I hate feeling sick and helpless.
How long will this feeling last?
I am SO glad that I have not been on it longer than 3 months.. I can't imagine having worse symptoms than this.

•Voting Question: How long will side effects last from lexapro withdrawal?
|
I was taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg and Lexapro 20mg together daily for a few years. I cant afford it with no insurance now and wanted to get off drugs anyway so I tapered of Lexapro... I was down about 2.5 mg a day until about a week ago. I stopped taking Wellbutrin cold turkey about a week ago but starting feeling lifeless and weak so I had to start taking it again yesterday. I feel lots of anxiety today and feel sick. I have been getting "brain zaps", flu-like symptoms, as well as anxiety from Lexapro withdrawal. Can anyone tell me how long this will last?
