•Voting Question: I have been on Wellbutrin SR for four weeks should I feel better at this point?
|
I am at the end of trying many antidepressants. I am now trying Wellbutrin SR 150 mg 2x/day as a final effort to help me feel less
bleak and hopeless.
I have been on wellbutrin sr 150mg 2x/day (generic) and wonder if others have tried this medication at this dose and 4 weeks is just not enough time for it to take effect?
I have tried many depression medications without much success.
Lexapro- (max dose for a month and a half)
Zoloft- (max dose for a month and a half)
Effexor- (max dose for two months)
Paxil- for a very short period
Amitriptyline
Nortriptyline
prozac (max dose for a two months)
Pristiq max dose, felt pretty good but started to worry about side effects of increased cholesterol as with many of these medications is a consideration.
Any advice or experiences is greatly appreciated

• Does a celexa and wellbutrin sr combo work well?
|
i have bad anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). i've tried luvox, lexapro, prozac, and remeron and have yet to find a medicine that will work for me
i'm mainly looking for relief from my horrible anxiety.
i'm really sensitive to side effects. my stomach hurts, i get bad nausea, i get tired, i get dizzy. i've heard people rave about celexa and wellbutrin combo. they call it "celwell" and say it works wonders because it treats so many things all at once.
is anyone on this combination?? does it work well? can i expect any bad side effects??

• Is there any anti-anxiety meds out there where I won't feel emotionless and won't gain weight?
|
I have tried just about every depression meds out there and they all give me some kind of bad side effects. Paxil---tired all the time and put on 10 lbs in a month. Zoloft, celexa, lexapro--sexual side effects (I had no drive and couldn't finish) also I felt completly numb...no feelings good or bad. I am currently taking Wellbutrin Sr, none of those side effects but not helping as well with anxiety. I have lost about 15 lbs since starting it...thats the one good thing. Isn't there something just for anxiety thats not going to give me all these other side effects. I don't believe I am a depressed person, I just have GAD. HELP!!! Has anyone had good luck with the Wellbutrin and controlling there anxiety...I've only been on it a few months.

• Replacement for Wellbutrin?
|
I've been on Wellbutrin for nine years, both generic and brand name, regular and SR, between 150mg to 300mg a day. The past few years it's felt like it's become less effective (I've been taking generic for cost reasons) and the side-effects have gotten worse, especially a ringing in my ears. Is there a drug chemically similar to Wellbutrin on the market? I tried two SSRIs last year -- Zoloft and Lexapro -- both of which had me sleeping 16 hours a day with no discernible benefit, so I've pretty much stayed away from that class of anti-depressant. I'm thinking I may need to up my dose and get back on the brand name Wellbutrin for it to start working again; the generic at 300mg made me too skittish, but anything lower than that seems to have little therapeutic effect. Naturally I'm going to discuss this with my doctor and I realize everyone has different reactions to these drugs, I just wanted to hear opinions and experiences to see what might work for me.
