• Will Lexapro cause weight gain if Zoloft didn't?

I've been prescribed Zoloft (100mg) & while mentally it worked well, physically I couldn't handle it (too tired). I liked that it made me stop eating emotionally. Mainly, I stopped taking it because I could not focus on grad. school work & didn't care about my classes. I got switched to Wellbutrin SR (150x2/day) and physically worked out (a little crack-headed though) but mentally I became moody & unstable. Again, I liked that it reduced my appetite. Now, I've been switched Lexapro (10) but I'm worried about the weight gain & I'm almost ready to just stop trying to find something that will reduce my anxiety. Given my past experiences, should I worry about taking Lexapro (weight gain, motivation/focus) or try to tell my dr. to just give me something for my paranoia & mini anxiety attacks? I am so new to all of this & confused.

Ty all, i could do with some weight gain.
was 74 kilos until depression wiped a year off my life hit 60 kilos or about 130 lbs which was mostly muscle lose.
on 5% body fat now, (need some fat) so look forward to this side effect.

Adderall, a stimulant, causes weight loss usually, and I have already gained weight from Lexapro, an SSRI which can cause weight gain. A doctor and I talked and I can get Adderall to treat ADD if I asked for it. If I take both, will it work that way?

I have an eating disorder (bulimia), depression, and ADHD. My psychiatrist has recently changed my antidepressant from prozac to lexapro, and I'm on adderall for the ADHD. I've been reading about lexapro's side effects online and a lot of people have said that the medication caused them to gain weight. This information is really important to me because I just got out of treatment for my ED, am in recovery, and REALLY don't want to end up using eating disorder behaviors to counteract any weight gain caused by my meds. Even if the lexapro does cause weight gain, would the adderall possibly negate that because of its tendency to cause weight loss? I know that this question is better suited for me to ask my doctor, but I already know what her response would be. She would tell me that I shouldn't coose my antidepressant based on whether or not I'll gain weight, but by how well it rids me of depression. Excuse the expression, but duh; I already know that, and gaining weight will just send me right back into my eating disorder. So any information would be extremely helpful!

• Scared To start taking Lexapro. Does it cause weight gain?

I need advice. i'm so frustrated. I really need to be on an anti anxiety medication of some kind. I have post traumatic stress disorder, and i have extremely horrible anxiety. so far i've had reactions to 3 different antidepressants. Zoloft, Prozac, and Welbutrin. and honestly, i'm getting scared to try any more. is it likely i'm going to have a bad reaction to all of them. i do take some Lorazopam every day for anxiety, its the only thing that helps right now. but my doctor will only give it to me for another few months. sucks. she now wants to try me on Lexapro. but i'm scared, first off that i might have a reaction to it. and second i heard it makes people gain a lot of weight. Is that true? I do not want to gain any weight right now. any one have any advice, or some other good anxiety/depression meds that might work good for me? how much weight did you gain or lose on Lexapro?

My doctor just prescribed me to the anti-depressant Lexapro for my extreme depression, PMDD and anxiety. However, I am also dealing with an eating disorder coupled with an adderall addiction. My question is-will Lexapro cause me to gain weight (which will only lead to a "freak out" fast bc I am SO worried about gaining even 2-3 lbs) and if so has anyone else had any luck with any other types of anti-depresants that do not?

i was on 10 mg daily for about 6 months and gained 30 pounds. the pounds wont come off no matter what i do?
will going off the pill help with losing the weight i gained on it.
also what anti depressent does not cause weight gain or even causes weight loss.

• If I take a low dose of Zoloft (25 mg) will I still gain weight? or only if I take high doses?

I just started taking Zoloft and I've been reading that it causes weight gain which Im really concerned with. I was previously on lexapro and I gained about 20 lbs, even though my dr doesn't think so. anyone think that if I stick with a low dose I wont gain weight?
