• Has anyone taken zoloft(sertraline), lexapro or celexa and gained weight?
|
And if so, how much and does it eventually taper off?

• Would a low dose of Celexa cause weight gain?
|
I am considering taking 10 MGS of Celexa for GAD. I have taken others (at much higher doses and gained TONS weight). I slowly tapered off of Zoloft (125 MGS) over the course of a month and it's been about a month since my last dose, and do not believe I need such large doses as I now also take anti-anxiety medication that has really helped (I resisted those for years). Would a low dose of Celexa be a good augmenter without uncontrollable weight gain? I'm on 5 MGS right now, and want to go up to 10. I won't take Lexapro because the dosing options are inflexible and I also don't have insurance.
I am working strictly with my doc on the tapering, and am always in contact with him before any changes are made. I ask him. and then he makes the decisions.

• Is there any anti-anxiety meds out there where I won't feel emotionless and won't gain weight?
|
I have tried just about every depression meds out there and they all give me some kind of bad side effects. Paxil---tired all the time and put on 10 lbs in a month. Zoloft, celexa, lexapro--sexual side effects (I had no drive and couldn't finish) also I felt completly numb...no feelings good or bad. I am currently taking Wellbutrin Sr, none of those side effects but not helping as well with anxiety. I have lost about 15 lbs since starting it...thats the one good thing. Isn't there something just for anxiety thats not going to give me all these other side effects. I don't believe I am a depressed person, I just have GAD. HELP!!! Has anyone had good luck with the Wellbutrin and controlling there anxiety...I've only been on it a few months.

• gained 30 pound on lexapro in five months...what other meds could I try w/o fear of weight gain?
|
I have tried wellbutrin before but still had episodes of agitation and anger. Zoloft was horrible. I lost alot of weight (120 pounds) about 8 yrs ago and now I have gained about 30 back in five months since lexapro. I gained 20 over four months and then we went to 20 mg about 10 days ago and I have gained 10 more pounds, so I know that it is the lexapro. I am about to move to a new city and I plan to see a new doctor there. What to do next? I have never tried prozac...would it help with out the weight gain? I had great success with SAM-e, but I couldn't afford the theraputic dose I needed. I don't have insurance either. I tried celexa too, without success.
any help is appreciated. thanks.

• Will calorie restriction help keep the weight off when I'm on Celexa or other antidepressants?
|
I want my life back--my happiness, but I'm so afraid of the weight gain that is possible with Celexa. I need help.
I can't directly go and work out--I get a lot of criticism for trying to workout from my family, although I only do it to increase my endurance. I like how to relieves stress, but my family sees it as me going through an eating disorder. If I try to explain I'm not, they won't believe me.
Calorie restriction is also hard. I can't do it because of the people I'm around all day and the constant pressure that I've began to buckle under from them.
If you've taken Celexa, how did you keep the weight off? The other antidepressants I've taken: Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, and Wellbutrin didn't work as well for me as Celexa, so I don't see changing medications as an option.

• Dr. recommends Prozac, celexa, zoloft... any suggestions?
|
I have a mild case of anxiety, so i'm planning to seek therapy and medication. the doctor recommended those three (along with paxil and lexapro, although she said lexapro's a little more pricy and paxil might make me drowsy/gain weight.), but my research is a bit shaky. what do people who have taken these recommend for a mild anxiety/mild depression?
any stories/experiences of taking it for the first time/withdrawals would help as well - this is my first time taking any prescribed medication besides antibiotics.

•Voting Question: Any suggestions for an anti-depressant with NO drowiness and NO weight gain!?
|
I have been battling anxiety and panic disorder and depression for three years now. I was on Zoloft for two years. It helped with the anxiety, but made me shake all the time, made me tired, and I gained over 25 pounds. I have tried so many other meds I've lost count. The ones I haven't tried are Paxil, Effexor, Celexa and Lexapro. Anyone have any experience with these? I have no idea where to turn next.

• Fear of public places? I think this is happening to me..why?
|
I've been on a bunch of stuff for stressed out. For a month now on 50 mg seraquel but lately I feel like nervous in public places, just don't want to be there, like get me out of here feeling. Eating dinner w/ my son, I wanted to just take my food to go. Why is this starting at 43? I was on celexa, lexapro, zoloft...didn't like any of them & caused weight gain so I am trying seraquel, & I can barley get up in the am. I hate this feeling, always have drug hang over.

• Question about bulimia.?
|
I have Bulimia since I was 12. Back then I was able to control it. But when I turned 16 until now (I'm 20) I can't control it. I throw up at least 4 or 5 times a day. I spend so much money on food. I was on Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa and Lexapro. But what they did was make me gain weight and feel worse and I stopped taking it at the beginning of 2009. I want to be in a rehab type of place for eating disorders as an inpatient. But I would like to know if is possible to do it without medication?
I really want to get better, because my aunt has bulimia for 20 years and she doesn't have any teeth and just had a blood transfusion. I'm so scared. I live alone since I was 15 and my parents are in different countries. Please I need advice. I don't need mean comments. Just save it and don't waste your and my time. Thank you!
