will lexapro, an antidepressant hinder or help my spiritual growth?
Some say that drugs like ritalin can hinder spiritual growth. i was wondering if its the same for an anti-depressant. I am taking am considering taking a low dose, where i can be in control, as it helps me have clearer thoughts.

Answers :I used to be on Lexapro. It really helped to straighten out my depression. Depression can run in families, and it's not a good idea to take it unless you really need it for depression. Only God can help your spiritual growth, not a drug. Do you water your spirit to make it grow? I wonder whats really going on in the heads of people who think like that. If you take antidepressants and it hinders your spirituality then I guess you could just smoke some pot to even it out. It is a hindrance.
Depression is a product of your world view. It is depressing to always see a depressing world.
Drug companies like to pretend that it is brain chemistry because it makes them a lot of money.
The chemistry change comes from habitually depressing thought patterns.
They pretend the cart is in front of the horse because they can make huge profits that way.

Read up on it asap. If it works for your depression then it should aid your spiritual growth. If it allows you to function normally, then I would have to say it will help you in all facets of your life.
